No More Manic Mondays

Since I started working from home, Mondays aren’t nearly as much of a pain as they used to be. I love sitting down and booting up the computer with a giant mug of coffee in hand and reading the morning news!

Breakfast was the last of the oatmeal you’ll see for a while as I decided to spice things up a bit and buy some Red River Cereal instead! The oats’ season finale contained half a banana, half a cup if soy milk, half a cup if water and one tablespoon of peanut butter!

My workout for the day was another short interval run (in -12 degree weather no less) followed up with ChaLEAN Extreme Push Circuit 1. I bought a pair of 9lb weights last week so my arms are really getting a great workout these days! Can’t wait to get up to 12 lbs!

After my workout I lunched on a Green Monster and some toast with raspberry jam. The downside is the god-awful sound my blender made while I was making my smoothie! It’s been leaking lately and although Alan tightened it already it’s just getting worse so I think we’re going to have to bite the bullet and buy a new one!

I got a bunch of work done in the afternoon and snacked on some grapes and two boiled eggs while finishing up my personal training textbook. The plan is to give it a read-through and then go back over it, chapter by chapter, making study notes as I go.

Dinner was a naked black bean burger topped with a slice of provolone with mustard and BBQ sauce (Bullseye – my favourite!). I had a salad and some carrots on the side.

Alan’s working late this evening so I take advantage of these evenings to be a total girl so I’m having a Real Housewives of Beverly Hills marathon! Don’t spoil anything for me, I only just started season 2!

Give Spring A Chance

It’s such a gorgeous spring-like day today! I’m taking advantage of it by taking work to my favourite coffee shop wearing a vest! Woot!

Breakfast today was a p.b.-less oatmeal bowl. It had oats, organic soy milk, half a banana, flaxseed and chia seed with a dash of cinnamon.

And then you’ll never guess what I did!

I went for a run!!! Technically, this has been my third run since I recovered from my torn calf muscle in September. I first went out a few weeks back for a test run and everything has been fine, no aches or pains at all in my calf! I’ve been doing intervals, mostly running 1-2 minutes and walking for one minute but I’m trying to build it back into my weekly workout schedule.

Today I ran for two minutes and walked for one minute, seven times and then did Push Circuit 1 from ChaLEAN Extreme so I’m sufficiently feeling buff today!

Lunch was an easy protein smoothie (I can’t be bothered with worrying about lunch).

This sucker included a frozen fruit blend, half a banana and a scoop of Sunwarrior Warrior blend (which is so delicious)! I’m out of spinach but it was a nice change!

My afternoon snack was courtesy of a caramel peanut Simply Bar. I got peckish at the coffee shop but wanted to steer clear of the baked goods so I packed things up and grabbed a bar on the way home!

Our fridge is pretty dim looking at the moment as groceries din’t arrive until tomorrow morning so you know what that means: RANDOM FOOD NIGHT!

We’ve got 2 pitas with assorted frozen veggies, miso tofu and a wee bit of sour cream along with some green beans made palatable with some spices (I’m not much of a green bean fan!)

I can’t wait for our groceries to get here!

My final snack of the day was a small bowl of wasabi peas! Yum!

These are the perfect snack! They’re super tasty but spicy enough that they keep you from eating a ton of them!
