Ever have one of those weeks where you’ve just been too darned lazy to get groceries? Up until the middle of this afternoon, that’s what was going on over here!
Things were desperate! Lunch was a Luna bar followed by some Triscuits with hummus as a snack later. It was pathetic!
Because of this, dinner for the last two nights was not of our making!
Last night was date night and we decided to hit up an Italian restaurant in Little Italy before heading over to the theatre to see The Swell Season documentary (as bittersweet as the movie Once).
Honestly? I don’t even remember the name of the restaurant as we were so cold and were running late but I did have a very tasty butternut squash ravioli with a glass of red wine!
Not too much ravioli but even I have to admit that there was too much sauce! It was a tomato sauce mixed with gorgonzola cheese so it was heavenly but it was drowning out the ravioli!
Since we’re not getting our groceries until tomorrow morning (we order our groceries – saves a LOT of time when you don’t have a car at your disposal) we knew we’d order out tonight. I didn’t want pasta again for the third day in a row so we ordered Thai!

Alright, in all honesty I went a little overboard, I ate this plus some tofu wedges in peanut sauce and am quite stuffed! Again, have no clue where Alan ordered this from but we weren’t all that impressed anyway.
The good news is that we have our meals mapped out for the next seven days and all of our yummy, healthy and wonderful food will arrive in the morning! Just in time to put some cream in my coffee (I just can’t quit cream!)
My workout today was scheduled to be Fire 55 plus Abs 10 but I really wasn’t feeling it at all so, instead, I hopped on the elliptical for 45 minutes! I am SO grateful that we have this machine in the house no matter how loud and squeaky it is! It just provides me with a no-excuses workout whenever I look at it!

I know it looks like I didn’t go on it but I think the batteries died as the screen didn’t work so I had to make do. At least we think it was the batteries, normally it gives us plenty of warning when we have to replace it and it didn’t the last time I was on it and now it’s not working. Hopefully it’s just the batteries…
What are your go-to foods for when you’re in desperate need of a grocery run?

Confession time…I’m ALL OVER THE PC frozen meals and Lean Cuisines. They’re perfect when I can’t be bothered going to the store, and some of them don’t taste too shabby!
