I Should Be Studying

Happy Hump Day friends! Hope your Wednesday is treating you well!

I woke up bright and early this morning to get in some circuit training as part of my half marathon training plan. Today I did Burn Circuit 2 as part of ChaLean Extreme. I used the resistance bands and got myself a pretty good workout! I do think that I could benefit more from either the tubing or better weights as the resistance bands (as they have no handles), hurt my hands during some of the moves. Tomorrow will be the real test as a good workout always leaves me sore the next day!

Breakfast was a bit of a bigger one. I started off with a PB & B sandwich!

One side had plain, natural peanut butter and the other my darling Dark Chocolate Dreams.

Then I had a yogurt bowl with 1/2c greek yogurt, 1/2tbsp chia seeds, 1/4 rolled oats, 2 sliced strawberries, 1.5tbsp sunflower seeds and a sprinkling of unsweetened coconut flakes.

It was a filling yet delicious breakfast!

Dinner needed to be quick because I wanted to spend the evening working on my school paper. So a Vegetarian Portobello Swiss burger it was! I had it on a bed of spinach and topped it with some spicy hummus, sun dried tomato pesto and tomato slices. I ate with a couple of dill pickles! YUM!

I washed it down with the BEST Green Monster I’ve had to date!

  • 2 handfuls of spinach
  • 1/2c vanilla soy milk
  • 1 scoop unflavoured whey protein powder
  • 1/2 large banana
  • 4 strawberries
  • 1/4c frozen raspberries (picked straight from my garden!)

The frozen raspberries MADE this baby! It was SO refreshing, the taste was just unbelievable! I highly recommend it. It’ll be life changing, I guarantee it!

So after this quick prep of dinner I went to settle in for some work on my paper and it just never got off the ground. I just couldn’t concentrate! All I could think about was how dirty the floor was! And then it escalated to the point that I just had to clean up. So I reasoned that if I cleaned up this evening then when I settle down to do some major school work, I won’t be freaking out over the state of the house and can get some work done. I’ll also probably leave the house so I don’t have more distractions like this happen again! 😕

I can be a serious procrastinator. When things seem overwhelming I tend to put it off. I’m not a big fan of this trait of mine because I also don’t do that well under stress! So I’ll give myself tonight but that means, until my project AND paper are done, I need to put my head down. You certainly learn the concept of time management when you start going to school on top of a full time job! I procrastinate much less than I used to but I still do it. The first time I was in Uni I couldn’t do ANY work unless my room was spotless!

I am always inspired by those who don’t procrastinate. Those who, when something needs to be done they just do it, they don’t think about it, they just do it. I’ve been trying to change this recently because life is so much easier when you have a job to do and you just do it. You can put it out of your mind and move on to something else. When you procrastinate, it’s just one extra thing piled on top of other things that still need to get done!

What about you? Are you a procrastinator or are you a pretty diligent person?

I will admit it – I’m a procrastinator about a lot of stuff! Some things, like writing, I do better when I don’t have as much time to pick it apart. Usually my first one-two efforts are my best and after that I’m just being nitpicky. But my motto could be “why do today what can be put off until tomorrow”! LOL

Okay – I’m being just a tad facetious…I do procrastinate, but I also know how to get stuff done. I think I’m a lot like you in that regards! :-)

Go study girl and you’re still making me hungry!!! GRRRR… 😉

I’m a TERRIBLE procrastinator. It’s one of those character traits I wish I didn’t have….the only thing that motivates me are deadlines, and honestly, I get my best work done while under stress, but it’s not the healthiest way to live!

HAha I’m a procrastinator too. Today I told myself that I have to be a good studying girl for the next 2 months, or I’ll not be able to do good graduations exams! :)
I was wondering why there are a lot of meals called “swiss…”, like your vegetarian Portobello SWISS burger. I saw that with other ingredients, like Swiss cheese (ok, that I can undesrtand why) and swiss protein, …

Nice post, your GM looks tasty! :)
          Greetings from Switzerland

I try not to be a procrastinator but I also have a very “unbusy” sort of life. Talk to me when I’m working full time and going to school and THEN I’d be a procrastinator for sure! At least when you procrastinate, you do something productive like clean your floors. I would be more likely to, uh, nap! :)

Your meals look delicious. That dark chocolate peanut butter looks ESPECIALLY delicious!

Oh I am the worst procrastinator EVER! As of right now I need to be making a dentist’s appointment, tidying my bathroom, and running the dishwasher…but reading blogs is just so much more fun!!!
