Oats ‘n’ Indian Food

This morning I enjoyed a great yoga session courtesy of YogaToday! Every week I get a free, hour long video from them and it helps me to stretch out my body, mind and treat my tired muscles. This weeks session was an intro to Ashtanga and it.was.glorious!

Breakfast was typical oats and coffee!

This mix contained:

  • 1/3 cup rolled oats
  • 3/4 vanilla soy milk (for a bit of sweetness)
  • 1tbsp Artisana Coconut Butter
  • 1tbsp White Chocolate Wonderful Peanut Butter
  • 1/2tbsp ground flaxseed
  • 1/2tbsp chia seeds
  • palmful of Kashi Go Lean Crunch
  • splash of cinnamon

Alan told me that he’d have dinner “taken care of” when I got home as we had top secret stuff to do (full details tomorrow!). He went on a carb spree! We had mashed potatoes with freshly chopped parsley and dried sage, whole wheat couscous with Pau Bhaji and grilled asparagus (cooked with red onion). He did an amazing job on the asparagus! It was soooo nicely grilled that the onion had started to caramelize so it had a hint of sweetness to it.

I LOVE asparagus!!!!

The Pau Bhaji actually came from a package! We love it so much that Alan got obsessive one day and bought one of each type! It’s from a company called Gits and despite the unfortunate name, you have to check out these ingredients:

Not a preservative among it!!! I LOVE that you can actually pronounce every single ingredient and they’re 100% vegetarian! I also love that they tell you the percentage of the amount of vegetables contained in it!

You guys should definitely check it out! All you have to do is stick the package in boiling water for a few minutes and voila! Awesome Indian food at your fingertips! If you’re in Canada, we get them at Metro for about $3 a piece.

Dinner was great! I’m definitely full of carbs though! Some days you just gotta get your carbs in!

Tomorrow Alan and I are doing something that we’ve been meaning to do for 15 YEARS! I’ve kept it a secret from those closest to me due to it being a surprise. It’s something we’ve been meaning to do for a while but just never got around to it and will, hopefully, create some awesome new opportunities! Stay tuned!
